Joyland was shortlisted for an Oscar
The Pakistani entertainment industry has created an international sensation in the year 2022. Our stars Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Samina Ahmed, Nimra Bucha, Ahad Raza Mir and Humayun Saeed starred in the international series while the Pakistani film Joyland became the country’s first film to be released at the time.
Cannes Film Festival and also won an award. Joyland was also released in Pakistan amid controversy and managed to garner mixed reviews from the audience. However, the film has been able to garner acclaim and appreciation from across the world.
After winning at Cannes, Joyland is all set for its Oscar journey as it became the first Pakistani film to be shortlisted for the International Feature Film category.
In this category, 15 films are selected from around the world which are then sent for final nominations. The film’s executive producer, Malala Yousafzai, expressed happiness over the success and praised the film’s talented cast and crew.
