When will Ramadan start this year?

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that this year’s Ramadan 1444 Hijri moon is likely to be sighted on March 22.

New Moon will occur on March 21 at the Crossing Conjunction Point (PST) between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM Pakistan Time. According to astronomical standards, the new moon can be seen on the evening of 22 March 2023, which corresponds to 29 Shaban 1444 AH.

As indicated by meteorological data, sunny to partly cloudy weather is expected in most parts of the country on the evening of March 22. If PMD’s prediction is correct, then Ramadan will start from Thursday, March 23.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, often known as the month of fasting, in which Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, gossiping, and cursing. This is the time when people are encouraged to engage in activities such as prayer, recitation of the Holy Quran, and giving charity.
